Chalice – 2D Seismic Identifies Extension At Julimar Project

Background

Chalice Mining Ltd has 100% ownership of the Julimar Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project, located ~70km north-east of Perth in Western Australia.

“Chalice recently made an important breakthrough in exploration at the project, with the previously elusive northern extension of the Gonneville Intrusion interpreted at depth in an effective 2D seismic survey”

October 2022

Solution

HiSeis were contracted to undertake two 2D seismic lines over the Gonneville – Hartog area. Project designed to test for potential plunge extension of the Gonneville Intrusion approximately 1.6km north-west of the current resource and 500m below surface.

Outcomes

The 2D seismic interpretation indicated that the Gonneville Intrusion could extend down plunge and be offset WNW by a fault. Drilling confirmed the seismic interpretation provides confidence that seismic is an effective exploration technique for outlining mafic/ultramafic intrusions within the poorly exposed Julimar Complex.
