There are three stages to our seismic pathway for mineral exploration.

Rock Property Measurements

This stage in the seismic pathway is easiest to complete, we have done it thousands of times.

At this stage, we are investigating the seismic properties of the rock at your mine site.

All we need is core from drilling, preferably by access to your digital core database. But if you don’t have that, then we’ll come to you!

We start by reviewing our database where we usually have a nearby survey that was completed to verify the reflectivity of the geology. We then derive 2 measurements from the core database or the core itself:

These two measurements and their connection with rock type and alteration from core interpretation, give us a base for synthetic seismic analysis!

We use the velocity and density to calculate acoustic impedance, which is related to seismic reflectivity.

Once we have the reflectivity, we are now able to understand why AND where seismic reflections will occur!

We can come out to your site to do the measurements, but we can also train you how to do them yourself.

2D Seismic (eSeis)

This stage of the pathway is a “toe-dip” into seismic for minerals.

It might seem small, but it packs a powerful geological insight and economic punch!

We work closely with your site team to design 1 to 3 seismic lines for acquisition.

We plan around geological trends, mine access, tenements, and infrastructure for best subsurface visualization and efficiency.

The acquisition takes about 14 days depending on conditions and time of year.

What you get at the end is:

You get this insight without drilling, all at depth, and all complete within 1 month… PLUS, you get images and data for your ASX release.
