HiSeis originated from Curtin University’s research into the efficiency of seismic technology for hard rock exploration.
Such was success of the new techniques developed from the research that in 2009 the enterprise was spun out of the University as a fully commercial operation. Today, HiSeis has evolved into the most significant hard rock geological imaging company in the world.
HiSeis provides end-to-end, high definition seismic services focusing on hard rock exploration, and in particular; exploration around existing mine sites and mine life planning.
With a unique combination of novel data acquisition equipment, innovative data processing algorithms and proprietary know-how in seismic survey design and interpretation, we are giving miners better access to geological information so they can better understand and plan the exploration and development of subsurface mineralisation.
Seismic had previously been considered ineffective in hard rock mining. HiSeis’ pioneering process has changed that for ever, delivering the resolution at depth that miners need to efficiently unearth the next major discovery. As one major client put it, “With the first drill hole into the 3D seismic data set we made a new discovery – the very first hole – and we’ve now drilled eight holes into it and we haven’t missed it in a single hole.”
